Korean Classical Performance εκδηλώσεις στο Λονδίνο

Korean classical performance, primarily known as Gugak, traces its origins back to ancient tribal rituals and the sophisticated royal courts of the Joseon dynasty. The genre utilizes distinct instrumentation such as the gayageum zither, haegeum fiddle, and the rhythmic janggu drum, which are used to execute intricate rhythmic cycles known as jangdan. While court music maintains a meditative and formal atmosphere characterized by restraint, folk varieties like pansori and sanjo emphasize intense emotional expression through deep vibrato called nonghyeon. Semantically, it serves as the foundational aesthetic for Korean cultural identity, balancing the rigid structural elegance of aristocratic traditions with the raw, improvisational energy found in grassroots folk performances.
