Mongolian Folk εκδηλώσεις στο Λονδίνο

Mongolian folk music originates from the ancient nomadic traditions of the Central Asian steppes, remaining deeply rooted in the historical relationship between humans and the natural environment. The genre is uniquely characterized by virtuosic vocal techniques such as khöömii (throat singing) and urtyn duu (long song), which are almost always accompanied by the morin khuur, or traditional horsehead fiddle. Rhythmically, the music frequently mimics the rhythmic galloping of horses, utilizing flexible, breath-like tempos that evoke the vastness of the Mongolian landscape and the open sky. This heritage maintains a profound spiritual and melancholic mood while serving as the essential foundational framework for modern evolutions like Mongolian folk rock and contemporary ethno-fusion.
