Tape Music εκδηλώσεις στο Λονδίνο

Emerging in the mid-20th century following the invention of magnetic tape recorders, tape music is a foundational genre of electroacoustic composition that utilizes magnetic tape for sound manipulation. Composers employ techniques like splicing, looping, and speed manipulation of recorded natural or synthesized sounds to create complex sonic textures. Characterized by its departure from traditional Western harmony, the genre presents abstract, atmospheric, or disorienting moods that prioritize timbral exploration over melodic structure. As a precursor to modern electronic music, it shares a deep semantic relationship with musique concrète, serving as an experimental bridge between physical sound sources and electronic generation.
