Welsh Folk εκδηλώσεις στο Λονδίνο

Welsh folk music is a traditional genre rooted in the Celtic heritage of Wales, characterized by its deep connection to the Welsh language and historical bardic culture. Instrumentation typically features the triple harp, fiddle, and crwth, alongside contemporary acoustic additions like the guitar, flute, and mandolin. The music oscillates between lively dance tunes, such as jigs and reels, and poignant, melancholic airs that evoke the specific cultural concept of hiraeth. Semantically related to the broader Celtic folk family, it maintains a distinct identity through its unique choral traditions and complex metrical structures while evolving through various modern folk revival movements.
