Medieval Folk εκδηλώσεις στο Λος Άντζελες

Medieval folk is a modern interpretation and revival of European music from the Middle Ages, primarily characterized by its use of modal scales and period-accurate acoustic instrumentation. Standard ensembles feature lutes, recorders, hurdy-gurdies, and frame drums, creating a pastoral and often arcane atmosphere that balances historical reverence with contemporary folk structures. The rhythm typically emphasizes steady, drone-based accompaniment or lively compound meters used in traditional dances, while the tempo varies from melancholic ballads to energetic saltarellos. Semantically related to both Early Music and the broader folk movement, it bridges the gap between scholarly historical reconstruction and accessible acoustic storytelling through its focus on melodic simplicity and organic textures.
