Voice actor for Asali (Maya Penn, the creator!) does a really great job. Cute short film about a bee, her mom, and her new friends fighting to save their forest from sinister life-sucking machines. Who took the time to build a big t-Rex looking machine with a chainsaw tongue to trap forest spirits and harass bugs and animals while draining the life from every living thing in the forest??? Idk but i guess it doesn’t matter for the sake of such a short narrative. Deeper world building is for longer stories and this is only a half hour long. Not subtle at all in its messaging but I think the demographic is geared younger so I don’t mind them naming the evils directly. This film is really well put together. Very cute and the guardian girl, Samara, is super cool. Would love to see more of these characters!Iconic for the creator to have been working on these artistic ideas since childhood. You really can make beautiful, meaningful art if you’re dedicated enough. Congrats Maya and team!
