an interesting film that takes a while to find a good pace. it's not as good as slugs but its better than squirm, in terms of bugs coming out ya mouth.

Αμέσως αρρωσταίνει και μεταφέρεται σε τμήμα επειγόντων περιστατικών, όπου οι γιατροί διαγιγνώσκουν μόλυνση από άγνωστο βακτήριο και ένα παράξενο παράσιτο που αναδύεται από το στόμα του ως ένα μεγάλο, γλοιώδες πλάσμα σαν σκουλήκι. Σύντομα εμφανίζονται νέα κρούσματα, αλλά το πιο άμεσο πρόβλημα για το νοσοκομείο είναι το τερατώδες πλάσμα που μεγαλώνει εκθετικά και σπείρει τον τρόμο στην εγκαταλελειμμένη πτέρυγα.

Wasn't even about a blue monkey, but I loved the fact they put a guy in a giant ant suit and had him terrorize sick children in a hospital. They just don't make this kind of art anymore.
Blue Monkey also known as Insect. Those are two very different titles that will lead to very different expectations going into this movie. If you're hoping for blue monkeys, you're out of luck because this is a giant killer insect movie. It actually starts out as a virus outbreak thriller with people getting quarantined by the military in a hospital to prevent the risk of virus spreading. The virus is caused by an insect which is soon given a growth stimulant by some mischievous kids, leading to everyone being trapped in the hospital with a giant insect. In addition to the giant beaker of growth stimulant sitting around, the hospital is also conveniently working on a new laser in the hospital, I wonder if that will come back into play at the end. Speaking of the end, when the insect is destroyed, the quarantine just stops. The military wasn't quarantining them because of the insect, it was trying to stop the spread of the infection. For all they know, all those people are still contagious. Blue Monkey is a 1980s take on a 1950s monster movie. There's some pacing issues in the first half but, once the creature shows up and the focus shifts to the man-in-suit giant insect monster rampaging through the hospital, it's pretty awesome. The monster has some movement issues and you are never not aware that it's a guy in a suit but I loved the creature. This is dumb monster movie fun.
