An out-of-work waitress and a bankrupt playboy team up to find her a rich society husband. A kind of low-budget contemporary version of Pygmalion with the action transplanted to American high society in the midst of the depression; this could have been a disaster, but a decent cast and a competent script overcome the cliched situations. It's difficult to understand why leading lady Irene Ware didn't have better luck in Hollywood, and kind of sad to see one-time silent star Betty Compson reduced to a supporting role in a Poverty Row production.
Silly romance fraud. No laughs. Only a mildly amusing story getting some charm out of it as broke people mingle into the rich world to find a lover. Kind of interesting to see once a rather big star in Betty Compson now doing supporting roles in a poverty row production like this. Still pretty and almost matched the former "Miss USA" Irene Ware in the looks department.
