Pretty sure I dated this girl back in my black and white days."Now we're aware the female mind is conditioned to a man's world. It therefore takes orders, where the other ones didn't." - Oliver Frank[enstein]This creepy misogynist Oliver Frankenstein is the grandson of the original Victor Frankenstein. The cretin slips his friend’s niece a mickey every so often, and shortly thereafter she transforms into the hottie you see here. Why this movie is mixing up Robert Louis Stevenson’s Jekyll and Hyde with Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, I do not know. And curiously, She’s NOT the daughter of anyone in this film. The plot eventually changes course and a proper monster “daughter” is assembled. Looks like a burn victim in a kimono. The movie was fine up to this point but it comes to a grinding halt, going every which way in the final act, from jealousy drama to a swinging pool party with live music numbers. Full-on with the b-movie tropes.I’ll give it credit for the makeup. The hot unibrow niece, the gnarled monster, and a fine acid-splashed face are well above the standards of the rest of the film.
