from a fun Edo slice-of-life to an existential drama about the passing of time, i think what makes it so great is that it tries everything except being just another biopic. using two historical figures, but only to portray them in the most human way possible. that's an even more beautiful tribute to them. Masami Nagasawa and Masatoshi Nagase were the perfect duo for this. their chemistry is so good that i just want to see them together all the time
