Probably one of the most insane movies I’ve seen wherein the characters are living in a fascist state, one they fully acknowledge as such and even explicitly oppose, only for them to adopt the “well we can’t change it so it’s no biggie” mentality and worse, romanticize it! Hard to turn your brain off to enjoy the Callum Turner/Monica Barbaro back & forth (which mostly works) when the movie shamelessly ends leaning pro-sex purge (??) and has lines of dialogue like “maybe the fascists were right about this one”.Crazy ass movie, Gluck & Co took Make Rom Coms Great Again too literally.
