Η κατάρρευση της Βερόνικα κατά τη διάρκεια ενός κονσέρτου όμως αλλάζει ριζικά τις ισορροπίες αυτής της αμφίδρομης σχέσης.

Have you ever tried to describe a half remembered dream? It is practically impossible. You'll always end up relating the broad strokes, perhaps remembering something symbolic, but never failing to forget how it made you feel. That is both what Kieslowski's film is about and manages to evoke within its audience.I'm glad my tendency to always want to analyze and understand everything quickly took the back seat, allowing me to revel in the captivating beauty of the film and let its dream like content resonate with me. In beautiful red, yellow and green the quartet of performer, director, cinematographer and composer create something that can only be a film and is therefore cinema at its most pure form. There is nothing here that is superfluous, gratuitous or compromising. It is completely dedicated to itself and thus it is something that is not only something to look at, it is also something that makes you look at yourself. The fact that it manages to do this so profoundly makes this one of the greatest pieces of art I've ever had the good fortune of resting my eyes upon.So what did I get out of it? Predominantly, a sincere sense of melancholy and longing. Everyone has a certain point in their lives where they feel inexplicably dissatisfied. This feeling is captured here and reshaped in a dream like fairytale in which, much like in life, there are more questions than answers. This sensation was startlingly recognisable and guaranteed my involvement in this edifying whirlpool of symbolism and contemplative visuals.It aso gave me Irene Jacob. Her performance and almost ethereal beauty are what enhances this film in every way imaginable. I read somewhere that she was the third choice for this role, but I honestly cannot seeanyone else playing this role. There are scenes in the beginning of the film where her appearance is merged with the equally stunning music which borders on absolute perfection. Take from this film what you will or take nothing at all, it doesn't matter. Watching this is a unique experience as it reaches heights most artists aspire, but only a handful ever reach.
