Pissed it took me this long and a comic legend’s death to watch it, I always mentally filed this under “broad 80s comedies that would’ve been funny as a child but probably aren’t as good now.” The only thing that “isn’t as good now” is some iffy race stuff, but I laughed out loud much more than I expected, and found it incredibly cute! Love it. The beach scene is unbelievable. I mean, every scene is unbelievable. M. Emmet Walsh’s bit fucking killed me. RIP Carl Reiner. “Things are gonna start happening to me now.”
