An interesting documentary that lists pioneering women filmmakers of the silent era and makes you wonder how different the landscape of American cinema might have looked had women not had the doors closed on them for decades during the subsequent sound era.

Probably the worst documentary I have ever seen in my life. The people they interviewed, while interesting, are so old, that they can't even remember what they were asked, or what they are talking about. Either that, or they have this unbelievably forced monologue that it seems they wrote themselves.Other than that, the pacing is bad, there's huge gaps in between interviews, and it seems that there is almost no chronological structure to this, which, being a historical documentary, needs it. I had to add this to The Movie Database, but very regretfully.To be fair, the subject matter of The Silent Feminists is very interesting -- it just should have gotten a better treatment.

Diversity of film class played this documentary and it is a snoozer. I did learn something so I’ll give it that but definitely not worth a rewatch. They paint people in a positive light while one of the people in the documentary actively talks about the sexual abuse endured by that director. Like what???
