“If all TV were like Buzz, your head would explode. It was like a visual assault” Visually creative (and thematically-relevantly-rebellious, also!) documentary about an ahead-of-its-time underappreciated aspect of MTV's history. Suffers a bit from padding its runtime (a solid 70-80min doc extended 20mins with too much pre-debut fluff)

I was around 13 and big on MTV in this era, but especially the specialty stuff: Buzz, Liquid Television, 120 Minutes, and Headbanger's Ball. It would be a few years before I really got into EBN and Negativland, but this MTV era definitely sparked that kind of interest. This doc is cut in a style that honors the show, and it tells the story through tangential structure, just the way the show told its stories.
