Visitor Q

"If it wasn't for this fearless soul (Miike), who else would dare make a film as bizzare as Gozu? As violent as Ichi the Killer? As fucked up as Visitor Q? I confess that I will never watch the three films mentioned above. Never. Not in this life. I'm not crazy." Sorry, mom. Sorry, dad. Sorry, God.Sorry, me from 3 months ago.Sorry, my second grade teachers.Sorry, artists of this world. I've found love, in the most disturbing place. I frowned, I cried, I laughed, I flinched in disgust, but most importantly, I've fell head over heels for Takashi Miike and Visitor Q. Sorry, mom. Sorry, dad. Sorry, God. I just had the most wonderful evening. I watched a stranger fix a dysfunctional family. I witnessed a mother embracing her loved ones. I saw the determination to change for the better in the eyes of a rebellious teen... while he's lying on a pool of breast milk. Sorry, mom. Sorry, dad. Sorry, Jason who share the same passion for Japanese cinema as me. Now my favorite films that depict both necrophilia and incest count is one. And the only word I can come up with to describe this experience is "beautiful". Absolutely beautiful. Part of Axel's Project. Who I'd like to apologize too, for playfully suggesting this film for the project. No regrets, though.
This is by far the weirdest movie I’ve ever seen. There are so many disgusting scenes, and I honestly have no idea what the movie was even trying to say. I’m not even sure I can give it a rating 😬
The film follows a deeply dysfunctional family whose lives are upended when a mysterious stranger arrives and begins to act as a catalyst for chaotic, transgressive change within their home.
Visitor Q was directed by Takashi Miike (2001), a prolific Japanese filmmaker known for his eclectic and often transgressive body of work.
It is widely categorized as a dark satire that blends elements of black comedy, psychological drama, and horror to explore its transgressive themes.
