This retrospective on the activism of James R. Roebuck is stylish with its flat shots of him driving. The opening sequence with him reciting his demands to President Sherman of his college is powerful and moving. It’s very commanding and stern, which serves to make a later moment featuring President Shannon hit harder as the two of them recite the same speech.
