Emily Fitzroy was a British-born character actress who built a prolific career in American cinema from 1913 until her retirement in 1944.
She is remembered for her performances in both silent and early sound films, with notable credits including The Bat (1926) and Forever and a Day (1943).
Unlike many silent film stars who struggled with the advent of synchronized sound, she successfully bridged the transition, continuing her steady work as a character actor into the 1940s.
