Chester Watson, een rapper en producer uit St. Louis, debuteerde halverwege de jaren 2010 met complexe, technisch verfijnde muziek geïnspireerd door MF DOOM en Earl Sweatshirt. Ondanks zijn jonge leeftijd werd hij snel een cultfiguur in de hiphop, bekend om zijn innovatieve stijl en mysterieuze neiging om te verdwijnen en sterker terug te keren. Zijn album ‘fish don’t climb trees’ uit 2023 bevestigde hem opnieuw als een meester in zijn genre en zijn bereidheid om creatief te experimenteren, heeft hem een unieke catalogus opgeleverd. Hoogtepunten uit zijn carrière zijn de tracks ‘Phantom’, het album ‘A Japanese Horror Film’ uit 2020 en de EP ‘1997’ uit 2021.
