Riley Green was born in Jacksonville, Alabama, and grew up listening to traditional country, bluegrass, and southern gospel. He developed his songwriting and performance skills at a young age under the influence of his grandfather, Bufford Green, who operated the Golden Saw Music Hall. Performing alongside older musicians provided him with a strong foundation for crafting songs that capture the experiences of life in the South.
