olarcore is a state of mind that helps to exit the boringness and scarcity of the fossil age and enter the spectacular SUN AGE. Tonight, we manifest a future together in which the sun powers our wildest dreams with its abundant energy. Artists from different disciplines have created works to celebrate and accelerate this vibe shift, this energy transition: Hannah van Binsbergen and Dewi de Nijs Bik (poetry), Big Hare (music), Aram de Groot (film), Jonathan Ho (costumes), Zwillingspaar (dj’ing). Big Hare (music) Big Hare (Luuk Ottenhof and Tim Fraanje) have always been trying to look beyond the bleak reality for the more magical, funny and spiritual insights. Their new album is a hymn collection for the solar cult they founded. Its key belief is that a hedonistic paradise lies ahead of us after the energy transition. Time and energy will be spent on (among other things) communicating with dolphins and fantasizing about solar powered space traveling. After a splendid soft launch, last year in Sexyland.world, their album Sun House is now hard- launched on vinyl by Blowpipe Records! Hannah van Binsbergen and Dewi de Nijs Bik (poetry) Hannah recently published a poetry collection called Kokanje, about the fantastical land full of pleasure for the enjoyment of the people. Dewi evokes (pleasant and painful) culinary and historical sensations in her debut Indolente, searching for new ways to talk about our shared past that transcend the personal experience. We are hyped and curious about how these two very abundant poets will approach a solarcore future! Aram de Groot (film) Aram de Groot is known for (among other things) bringing inanimate objects like statues and artworks to life. His Solarcore short film which premieres tonight is inspired by Pataphysica, the ‘science of imaginary solutions’. The film is made in collaboration with strange makeshift automata built from consumer waste. Aram has also rescued a lens from an enormous obsolete television found in Almere to pinpoint the sunlight in the desired direction. This lens produces transformative dream effects to help us imagine the magnificent sun age. But if, despite our efforts, the apocalypse might happen, this lens can also provide life saving fire! Jonathan Ho (costumes) Jonathan Ho has made costumes which seduce us to enter an unknown future, as he is a specialist in discovering and cultivating desires. Earlier, Jon researched sex lives of snails, who turned out to be fluid and lustful beings. By colourfully decorating their shells, Jon created an even more stimulating feast for the senses of the for the snails. He did the same for humans, by designing for example a church-themed dark room which helps visitors reach spiritual levels of ecstasy and personalized fetish wear which gives the wearer access to their own specific pleasures! Zwillingspaar (dj’ing) Zwillingspaar is an extremely energetic and futuristic duo consisting of Cyanne van den Houten and Isa van Weert. The music they play never fails to fuse everyone on the dancefloor into a fast-moving desiring machine. Cyanne also created the otherworldly artwork of Big Hare’s new Sun House record, the visual identity of the Solarcore avant-garde and imagined a series of enchanted devices for the Sun Age. Isa van Weert prepared the artwork of Sun House for screen printing in five layers and took the lead in a screen printing marathon that lasted several days. Tonight we present the gold-adorned result!
