Our People is a multimedia musical celebration honoring Black and queer voices, journeying from isolation and the AIDS crisis to a joyful revolution of pride. Featuring tenor Freddie Ballentine and pianist Kunal Lahiry, the program blends classical works by Schubert, Purcell, and Rachmaninoff with contemporary songs from The AIDS Quilt Songbook and anthems by Nina Simone. The performance features live ballroom dancers, exploring themes of coming out and self-discovery as part of WorldPride Amsterdam.
