A powerful tribute to jazz legend John Coltrane returns to THEATRE OF THE NO, Athens’ first English-speaking theatre, on Friday, October 10th at 21:30. Performed by the acclaimed «Gilad Atzmon Quartet», the event features internationally celebrated saxophonist Gilad Atzmon, renowned for his technical brilliance and his ability to capture the spirit and artistic legacy of the iconic musician, celebrating his enduring contribution to jazz. John Coltrane, an American composer and jazz saxophonist, is regarded as one of the greatest musicians of the 20th century. With his pioneering saxophone playing, he forever reshaped the sound of jazz. Along with Miles Davis, he remains one of the most influential and revolutionary figures in the history of jazz. His work transcended music, becoming a powerful voice for the Civil Rights Movement. Gilad Atzmon's album "The Spirit of Trane" (2016) received glowing reviews, with The Guardian calling it "a living re-imagining and deep tribute to the spirit of Coltrane" rather than a simple imitation of his style.
