VOLE Vole is a band around Prague Hluch Crew and Academy of Fine Art in Prague charging hardcore with punk (no art). Their music is purely essential and good for apocalyptic meditation in a pit full of serpents. Angelic-razor guitar, bubbling drums, fluffy bass, and voice of Shiva that’s the Vole. Fighting police, nude showers in the storm, spitting on cabrio driver, friends everywhere, no money, no own instruments, delay, and distortion. Like Alice Cooper and David Bowie before them, Zorn knows you gotta have the songs to back up the image. Zorn’s metal-punk draws on death rock melody, intricate thrash riffing, and the bulldozing power of Discharge-inspired hardcore bands, but the songs are as infectious as they are intense.
