Taxawal
Taxawal is an experimental punk/noise band from Bucharest, formed at the end of 2022. Drawing influences from surf rock, jazz, funk, and beyond, the quartet combines stylistic contrasts with the energy, chaos, and aggression of punk music. Their songs explore sensitive subjects hidden beneath captivating and often unsettling instrumentation, creating a sound that feels both playful and confrontational. The tension between the band members’ different musical backgrounds has become one of Taxawal’s defining characteristics. Since their debut on the local underground scene, Taxawal have released singles such as “Beach Story/Spider” and “For You/For Myself”, shared stages with notable acts, and continued to expand their live presence. They are currently writing and recording material for their upcoming debut album. The Cult Control Association produces and promotes the series through a grant offered by Banca Transilvania. As part of the project, any BT card owners enjoy a 10% discount at the bar the entire year!
