Known for his powerful tenor saxophone sound, Rivera fuses straight-ahead jazz with influences from his Chicano heritage. Based in Austin, Texas, where he serves as Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Texas, Rivera has built a distinguished career performing alongside jazz legends like Kurt Elling and Wynton Marsalis. The evening also features a DJ set by Serpente.
