Whether Michael Mayo is performing with his band, as a guest, or alone with a looper pedal and a piano, the LA native’s commanding and otherworldly vocalese has been gathering critical and commercial acclaim around the globe. Mayo attended the prestigious Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Performance, being only the third vocalist accepted into the program, where he studied under legends like Wayne Shorter and Herbie Hancock. Mayo is a veteran international performer who has led his own band at revered jazz clubs and festivals worldwide. He has collaborated with artists such as Jacob Collier, Lenny Kravitz, and The War and Treaty. His debut album 'Bones' was released in 2021, and he was named International Artist of the Year at the Deutscher Jazzpreis in 2022. His Grammy-nominated sophomore release 'Fly' features prominent musicians like Shai Maestro and Linda Oh.
