Stray Lights Showcase: ORKID Album Launch & D.E.N.I.S. at Control Club Bucharest
Another month, another instalment of the Stray Lights series in Control. Orkid marks 10 years since their first concert in the current line-up and celebrates the occasion with the release of a new album, Eclipsa / În altă parte, a largely improvised solo performance recorded live on the Control stage. The Bucharest trio describe their sound as post-traumatic blues: restless shoegaze threaded with influences ranging from punk and garage to post-metal and contemporary classical music. Opening the night, D.E.N.I.S. prepare a special set created for the occasion: a hybrid between their synth-heavy electronic show and their usual rock-driven live performances. Formed in Bucharest in 2020 by Daniel Boiangiu, the project emerged from the capital’s underground with explosive live shows built around themes of urban alienation and hedonism.
