Geesten en rituelen — Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest
Wat gebeurt er als rituelen hun betekenis verliezen, en hoe kunnen we ze opnieuw tot leven brengen? Die vraag ligt ten grondslag aan de nieuwe voorstelling GHOSTS, waarmee het Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest komend najaar op tournee gaat. Vanmiddag krijgen we er een muzikaal voorproefje van te horen. Samen met de Soedanese zanger Mohamed Al Tayeb spelen de musici van het AAO composities waarin het Arabo-Andalusische, maar ook het Soedanese muzikale erfgoed doorklinkt. Het Amsterdams Andalusisch Orkest maakt al jaren spraakmakende voorstellingen waarin het de muzikale cultuur van Al-Andalus levend houdt. Op het snijpunt van Arabische, Afrikaanse en Europese tradities weet de groep telkens weer te verrassen.
