An Evening with Roger McGuinn
A nostalgic, slow-burn folk rock night.
24255 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90263
A Chicago native, McGuinn started as a folk musician, studying at the Old Town School of Folk Music and performing on the Chicago music scene. In the early 1960s, McGuinn added a rock beat to his folk repertoire and met up with Gene Clark and David Crosby to co-found The Byrds. The autobiographical one man show, "Live from Mars," was released on Hollywood Records in November of 1996. Roger McGuinn, founder and frontman of the Byrds, is a true music pioneer whose fearless experimentation helped shape modern rock. Blending the rock energy of the 1960s with the folk influences of artists like Bob Dylan, he helped create the genre of folk rock and later influenced the rise of country rock. With his signature 12-string Rickenbacker sound and iconic hits like “Mr. Tambourine Man,” “Turn! Turn! Turn!” and “Eight Miles High,” McGuinn delivers an unforgettable evening of music and storytelling.
