An Evening With Sublime
A homegrown, nostalgic reggae rock night.
The Grammy Museum celebrates the opening of the exhibit 'Sublime: Straight From Long Beach' with a special evening featuring the groundbreaking trio. The program includes a panel discussion and a plaque presentation to commemorate the Diamond-certified milestone of their self-titled album, followed by an acoustic performance on the Ray Charles Rooftop Terrace. Attendees can enjoy rooftop views and a cash bar prior to the event while also viewing the exhibit artifacts, which include handwritten lyrics, instruments, and rare photos. Sublime, formed in 1988 in Long Beach, became a defining force in the reggae-punk and ska scenes. Following the tragic loss of Bradley Nowell in 1996, the band's legacy continued through their multi-platinum releases. A new chapter began in 2023 with Bradley's son, Jakob Nowell, joining original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson for a full reunion.
