The Basements & The Sences

The Basements The Basements are purveyors of moody 60s garage punk since 2009. After their debut LP "I'm Dead", 2016's "Lost", gigs supporting the Sonics and the Fuzztones, a few personnel changes and a lockdown-related hiatus, they re-emerged in 2023 with "Sounds of Yesterday" on Lost in Tyme Records. The Basements perfectly capture the sound and spirit of the bands assembled on such compilations as "Teenage Shutdown" and "60s Garage Punk Unknowns", but with a wholly original approach to songwriting. We are talking about the real garage punk sound… raw, wyld & moody! The Sences In a bleak musical landscape where styles like reggaeton and trap tend to dominate the youth scene, the emergence of The Sences is an exciting revelation and an injection of optimism for lovers of raw guitars. It is truly unusual and refreshing to see such a young band dedicate themselves with such passion to authentic 60s Garage Rock. This fact, the maturity they show at their young age, is proof that there is still much hope left. Their music is loaded with raw fuzz, swirling farfisas, pounding drums and tons of screams. Their sound is an expression of a great love for the "moody sounds of the 60s" and the energy of teenage angst. The most impressive thing is that they don't try hard to seem "cool" or "authentic"; they simply are.
