Messa per Rossini
A nostalgic, underground classical night.
Bulevardul Constantin Diaconovici Loga 2, 300022 Timișoara, Romania
Thirteen 19th-century Italian composers, led by Giuseppe Verdi, created the monumental Messa per Rossini as a moving tribute to Gioachino Rossini after his death in 1869. Though intended as a symbol of artistic solidarity, the work was forgotten for over a century before its modern premiere in 1988. Today, it stands as one of the most impressive collective creations in sacred music history. This extraordinary vocal-symphonic concert marks the close of the 2025–2026 season. The Banatul Philharmonic Orchestra and Choir perform under the baton of maestro Gabriel Bebeșelea, featuring a distinguished lineup of soloists.
