Petter "Maverick" Mitchell (Tom Cruise) continues to push the envelope after thirty years of service, eventually training a new detachment of graduates for a specialized mission. Among them is Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, the son of Maverick's late friend Goose. Maverick must confront his past and deepest fears in a mission that requires the ultimate sacrifice.
