Ναγκασάκι το 1964. Μετά τον θάνατο του πατέρα του, αρχηγού μιας συμμορίας Γιακούζα, ο δεκατετράχρονος ταλαντούχος Κικούο γίνεται προστατευόμενος ενός διάσημου ηθοποιού του θεάτρου Καμπούκι.
