Congratulations to hometown hero Bruce LaBruce for his 30-year-old underground film playing to a sold-out, multigenerational audience. You can never predict what's going to stay relevant.In his post-film Q&A, LaBruce said that the stump-fucking scene caused mass walkouts when this played at Sundance. No walkouts tonight, but definitely still the moment that caused the most audible sense of "Ooof..." among an audience very much primed for a movie like this.The part where a guy gets completely wrapped in duct tape except for his nostrils almost gave me a panic attack.
