De esas películas en donde podemos ver con la máxima claridad posible cómo se fue construyendo la historia del cine mexicano. Varias de las tomas que Fernández le hace a María Félix me parecieron fundamentales para formar su leyenda: la Doña se ve absolutamente espectacular, la iluminación sobre su rostro es increíble y no hay cómo no rendirse ante ella en ese plano detalle de sus ojos, abriéndose lentamente mientras un trío canta bajo su ventana “Qué bonitos ojos tienes”. Genial. Su personaje es padrísimo y me sorprendió lo cómica que puede ponerse la película; de hecho creo que es la más divertida que le he visto al Indio, y también de las mejor fotografiadas por Figueroa. Hay una secuencia hacia el final en donde las tropas del gobierno están entrando a Cholula y solamente vemos las sombras de los soldados revolucionarios que hacen la retirada. La secuencia es imponente. La recuerdo y se me pone la piel chinita..Gran película, y grande la señora Doña.
