Had the pleasure of seeing this at the Woods hole film festival! Beautiful! Loved the music in this film and the home film intertwined that made it all the more personal. This is what the “American dream” is to a lot of people. I got to talk to the director personally after the film! Very nice!!
A daughter reflects on her father's life - weaving the story of his miraculous journey from the streets of India with the realities of life in America. Using recorded phone calls with her dad while he worked nights at a gas station along with home movies past and present, this deeply personal essay film is a meditation on family, the immigrant experience, and the dreams we carry with us.

Santa Barbara International Film Festival 2026A fantastic, sincere piece that not only covers the filmmaker’s father, but the communities he impacted as well.Using family tapes as b-roll is a visual I will never get sick of, and the extensive amount the filmmaker had at her disposal is remarkable.
The Gas Station Attendant is a loving tribute to a friendly man and a touching exploration of his restless spirit that in the end feels like a polished home video accompanied by poetic narration. Full review at: Spectrum Culture.
