At first it looked like it was going to be a lively time, but it quickly got annoying. At least they kept the energy up. even if the quality otherwise was questionable.

The plot follows their journey to save the tribe while navigating a tradition that demands the sacrifice of the sacred bird.
Story and Characters: 1/5Animation: 1.5/5Soundtrack and Other Elements: 1/5Level of Enjoyment: 1/5Overall Score: 4.5/20 Blaziker’s Hot Sauce Rating: MildSong: “D.G.T. (On and Off)” by Theodor Andrei (because like this song, this movie was already bad concept wise, but the overall execution makes it even worse because there is no quality control in whatever that is left in the R****an animation industry)The things I do for the prosperity of the global animation industry, eh?Just as when you thought I am done with covering a global animation black hole in Germany, it’s time to cover an animated movie from another animation black hole in R****a. While Soviet Union animation is known for its innovation and creativity thanks to its unique dark identity, after the breakup of the Soviet Union, R****a has since abandoned its identity in favour for endlessly producing computer-generated, Americanised imitations that feel terrible in such a soul-crushing way. While other countries, including its big neighbour China, have mostly moved on from imitating what they cannot do and instead are producing their own top-quality stuff that showcases their talent and passion for animation, R****an animation felt mostly stuck in the past, and unfortunately, The Myth of Maracuda further proves this sad fact.Sure, this is not as terrible as that awful Cats in the Museum movie from the even more awful Licensing Brands (one of the worst theatrical animation studios in existence) from the same country, but that is because Maracuda at least has a semblance of writing and the animation is not as unwatchable compared to Cats in the Museum; unfortunately, the positives end there. Yes, this is yet another generic family-friendly foreign CG animated movie that goes almost nowhere, but at least there are other such movies for the past few years that has better ideas, execution and animation with some that can be comeptitive with some mainstream animated movies, such as Jumbo, Mosley, Seal Team and the two Chickenhare movies. The Myth of Maracuda, however, is not.I don’t think there is any proper quality control in place for The Myth of Maracuda, whether it is this broken an under-developed story that is full of poorly realised clichés, a lack of any proper comedy to keep me entertained, no real character development and the usually bad English dub of another foreign animated movie, all typical hallmarks of what you would expect from a poorly executed and disposable family-friendly foreign CG animated movie global animation is trying to move on now. The animation, while having a few decent animation moments and has some interesting character designs, suffered from low-quality rendering and jarring frame skips that shows the lack of development and care in producing animation. The minor elements are not worth looking at, and as for my level of enjoyment, while there was one other animated movie I covered so far that scored below 12 out of 20 (the passing score according to my rating scale), at least I have fun with Charlie the Wonderdog because that movie went off the rails and resulted in such an entertaining mess; however, the same cannot be said for The Myth of Maracuda, as it was a sufferable mess of an animated movie. For a cliché and disposable family-friendly foreign CG animated movie, the least it could do is to make me entertained just like Charlie the Wonderdog, but it sadly did not.Overall, The Myth of Maracuda is another reason why you should avoid most R****an animated movies altogether, especially the modern era ones. Almost none of them can match up with other countries who have started producing better quality animated movies and have a passionate animation fanbase, including its neighbours Ukraine who produced a very decent one with 2023’s Mavka: The Forest Song in spite of being partially produced during the ongoing invasion. Now if you excuse me, after covering two animated movies from two separate animation black holes, I have a Roarball game to catch, because that would at least be of better value despite being way more expensive compared to The Myth of Maracuda and the remnants of whatever that is left with R****a’s animation scene.
