Caravan 222 was created in 2017 as an artist residency in Valparaiso, Chile. The "Parallel Universe" residency brought together 4 musicians/ songwriters from the bay area and flew them out to Chile to write an album and tour the country. This experience brought a unique sound and lasting charisma within the group, layering poetry aside experimental folk, psychedelic rock and country music. With only a few original members and a whole new cast of characters, the sound has tightened into a very authentic cosmic country sound, reminiscent of the Burrito bros, Doug Sahm and Brinsley Schwarz. The 222 crew have been residing in LA as of late, releasing “Country Bangers vol.2” in 2025 and a much anticipated follow up album titled “Rowdy & Pouty” coming out in summer 2026.
