Carson Bartlett's music puts on full display his ability to blend disparate sounds and showcase his propensity towards the more haunting instrumentation of nu metal, horror punk, and baroque classical styles of music influenced by bands like IDLES , Misfits, and The Voidz. Carson released his first single, “Satisfied?”, in 2020, which propelled him towards writing an EP, which he titled Cars On Fire. The title is both a witty play on words and a nod to The Strokes, one of his biggest inspirations. However, it has a deeper meaning. "On Fire" can be interpreted as both an encouraging phrase and a destructive force of nature. It is meant to represent the double-edged sword of growing ambitions as an artist: The purpose-filled delight of finding a passion in writing music, and the burning desire that comes with it. The release of "Darkness+" in 2024 signaled a transition towards a new artistic vision. One that was borne out of an incipient love for gothic and dark aesthetics and a search for new mediums of sound that could carry and communicate the full weight of his brooding and romantic nature.
