Edgy Palates

Edgy Palates is a Lithuanian experimental vocal trio that pushes the boundaries of vocal music, challenging traditions and redefining the power of the human voice. This year, they present their second album, "Queen of the Night", set for release on both digital and vinyl formats. The album “Queen of the Night” is an alternative musical narrative in which well-known opera heroines break free from the traditional frameworks of tragedy. In this album, trio Edgy Palates not only reinterprets well-known classical pieces but also reimagines the stories of three powerful women who experience love in very different ways – the Queen of the Night, Cio-Cio San, and Carmen. The soundscape of this album is a kind of journey. Edgy Palates transforms well-known classical music: works by Mozart, Puccini, Bizet, Schubert, Dvarionas, and Šimkus are combined with elements of dance and heavy music. These are not just recompositions – they are sonic remakes that give old melodies a new, contemporary pulse. "Queen of the Night" album release was funded by the Lithuanian Neighbouring Rights Association AGATA.
