Giddy Up Gangsta

Based out of Southern Illinois, Giddy Up Gangsta (GUG) formed in 2007 and quickly earned the title of “MySpace Metal Kings of the South.” With a cult-like following, they became known for their explosive energy and flawless stage presence—live shows were never something to miss when GUG rolled into town. Over the years, they shared the stage with numerous national touring acts, solidifying their reputation in the underground scene. After going on hiatus, their legacy only grew stronger. In 2021, Beentherescenethat Records reissued their 2007 EP with brand new artwork, keeping the fire alive. Despite amassing over 200,000 streams across multiple platforms, much of GUG’s catalog has remained unclaimed by the band themselves. Their original EP was rushed, never fully capturing their raw character and unique style. Lost footage and unrecorded material from the MySpace era still lingers, hinting at what could have been. Now, after years in the shadows, Giddy Up Gangsta is piecing everything back together. With whispers of unreleased songs and new music on the horizon, the resurrection has begun.
