An underground jazz artist.
Irene Serra is a jazz vocalist and composer with a love for storytelling through music. Italian by birth, Danish by upbringing, and Londoner by choice, she’s made her home on some of the UK’s most iconic stages – from Ronnie Scott’s and the Barbican to Union Chapel and Pizza Express Jazz Club. Her journey started as a 16-year-old studying jazz in Milan, before swapping la dolce vita for rainy London to dive deep into her craft at Goldsmiths and later the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. Along the way, she picked up accolades at international competitions in Brussels and Montreux, but what really drives her is connecting with audiences through heartfelt, intelligent, and playful performances. When she’s not performing solo, Irene leads ISQ, her genre-blurring post-jazz/art-pop quartet, where her songwriting mixes raw emotion with a flair for the unexpected.
Irene Serra performs sophisticated vocal jazz and jazz-pop, blending classic jazz traditions with contemporary art-pop sensibilities.
She is Italian by birth, raised in Denmark, and based in London as an active fixture in the UK jazz circuit.
