Riding the mighty new wave of Finnish Surf Rock, Mary Ann Hawkins are the No. 1 surfing group in the country. For many moons now the Helsinki-based band has driven audiences wild across the old continent. They’ve charmed crowds at major Finnish festivals and stages across Europe with their live performances. Following their self-titled album in 2022 via Svart Records, the group released their sophomore album Helsinki Surf City in 2025. The record added a new twist to the instrumental, dynamic surf sound they’re known for - featuring renowned Finnish vocalists on select tracks: Stepa , Marko Haavisto , Maria Stereo and Minja Koski known as M – resulting in a joyous, beautiful, dangerous and action-packed trip. Vinyl copies of both albums have been flying off the shelves, a testament to the band’s loyal, record-loving fanbase. Now the band are preparing to release a compilation of their two early self-released EPs, Waves Won’t Lie and Rumble, completed with bonus tracks, via Svart Records on October 23rd, 2026.
