Molina

Molina is the Copenhagen based Danish-Chilean producer and composer—full name Rebecca Molina (b. 1992). Her music flows from an interest in combining digital, sample-based production with hand-played, unpolished instrumentation. While she sings—either airily or droningly, guitars blur the lines with jagged textures and splattered muck. There are wide and woozy landscapes: a pixelating sunset coming in and out of focus, filled with new roads stretching out ahead. In October 2024, Molina released her full-length debut album, "When You Wake Up" on Danish label Escho. It's a record of presence—a collage of time spent slowing down and being attuned to life’s cycles and changes. To capture a sense of unpolishedness and spontaneity in the recordings, Molina worked with instruments which she had less experience with. “I focused on the accidental and immediate, letting these qualities become the center of the songs.”
