An underground salsa artist.
From the streets of Long Island to the heart of New York’s Latin music tradition, Nick Corredor represents a new generation of musicians carrying the torch of salsa with conviction, respect, and fire. A 24-year-old Colombian American bandleader, producer, and arranger raised in a family of musicians and devoted record collectors, Corredor has immersed himself in the language of New York salsa since childhood. His music reflects a deep understanding of the sound born in the barrios—where jazz met Afro-Caribbean rhythm and salsa became the voice of a city. As founder and musical director of Orquesta La Herencia, Corredor leads a ten-piece orchestra dedicated to the uncompromising spirit of salsa dura. Inspired by the revolutionary work of Eddie Palmieri, Willie Colón, and the legendary Fania All-Stars, the band delivers hard-driving trombones, relentless percussion, and the unmistakable swing that defined New York’s golden era. With one foot planted firmly in tradition and the other pushing toward tomorrow, Nick Corredor isn’t reviving the sound of New York salsa—he’s helping write its next chapter.
