An underground jazz artist.
Satish Robertson has been building a body of work highlighting his creativity as a trumpeter, composer, and producer. His self produced 2020 album 80's Joint: The Album (Remastered) blended jazz improv with a unique reimagining of 80’s pop, rock, funk, and new wave sounds. His 2026 single One For Jamal is a compelling tribute to a fallen friend, featuring his soulful horn over a self produced hypnotic boom-bap soundscape. A veteran of the New York music scene, Satish has worked with a wide range of artists such as master saxophonist James Carter, R&B icon Meli'sa Morgan , hip-hop artists Ace Clark , Skyzoo, and Afro-fusion group Wazumbians among others. He also leads various hard hitting jazz groups of his own. In 2023 Satish began serving as part of James Carter’s Lookin’ At Lock project, playing prestigious venues such as Blue Note, Birdland, and Scullers, and culminating with a lauded tour of Europe in fall of 2024. Immediately afterwards he joined forces with Polish jazz-fusion group Groovosophers, recording on their debut album and accompanying them as special guest on two critically acclaimed European tours in 2025. The group’s newly released live album Live at Zajezdnia Kultury was recorded during the second tour. Satish’s horn blazes throughout. Most recently Satish has been touring internationally with legendary funk group Fatback Band as well as as performing with Stanley Jordan. A new solo album is also in the works.
Satish Robertson plays a distinctive blend of contemporary jazz, chillhop, and boom-bap beats, featuring soulful trumpet arrangements.
Satish Robertson is based in Brooklyn, New York.
