Formed in London in 1976, The Damned are pioneering architects of British punk rock and gothic rock, celebrated for their high-energy anthems and theatrical dark aesthetics. Anchored by distinct baritone vocals and blistering guitar work, the band released the United Kingdom's first punk single, 'New Rose', cementing their enduring status. They continue to blend raw punk attitude with brooding post-punk experimentation across decades of influential releases.
