Turning thirty, French singer-songwriter Pomme takes sole creative control for the first time on her fifth album "la forteresse", seamlessly blending pure, intimate folk with expansive orchestral arrangements. Deeply influenced by her role and soundtrack work on "Peau d'homme" alongside Bryce Dessner (The National), as well as inspirations ranging from Hieronymus Bosch to Hayao Miyazaki, the record unfolds as a rich four-chapter concept narrative framed around a mythical, bound-breaking creature. Recorded live at France's renowned Studios de la Fabrique, la forteresse stands as Pomme's most ambitious and unfiltered work to date, fearlessly tackling themes of identity, turning thirty, climate grief, and resilience.
